Kubat Paşa Madrasa (once used as a museum)
Until recently there were many madrasa (Muslim theological colleges), in Tarsus and its environs. Today the only one that remains is the Kubat Pasha Madrasa. In 1970 it underwent a complete restoration and was then used as a museum for a long period of time.
Kubat Pasha built the madrasa in 1550. The building is a single storied and encompasses a substantial courtyard which can be accessed by way of a single-portal access way. Small rooms are situated to the south and east of the courtyard. A secondary portal is situated directly opposite the main entrance portal. Each of the portals is covered with a dome. Hewn stone was used in construction; the building is unpretentious in its appearance.
